The Frontier SpillSafe 225L is a 4 drum spill containment pallet built for full drum spill containment: its 300 mm deep, 225 litre sump holds the entire contents of a 200 litre drum if one fails. It is the deep sump spill pallet for four 200 litre drums of oil and chemicals, and carries a 1,200 kg static load, about 300 kg per drum. The sump is moulded from DIBt-approved metallocene polymer (PE-MD), stronger than LDPE and more flexible than HDPE, making it a heavy duty spill pallet, chemical spill pallet and spill pallet for acids, alkalis and hazardous liquid storage. Also called a 4 drum bund pallet, sump pallet or drum spill tray, it is the secondary containment pallet for audit-ready drum storage.

225 Litre Full-Drum Sump – Holds the entire contents of one 200 litre drum, as well as everyday leaks and drips from all four 200 litre drums.
DIBt-Approved Metallocene Polymer (PE-MD) – The sump polymer is approved by Germany's DIBt. It is stronger than LDPE, more flexible than HDPE and resists most oils, acids and alkalis.
Heavy Duty 1,200 kg Static Load – Carries four full steel drums of dense chemicals, 1.5 times the 800 kg industrial grade.
Deep Rib Reinforced Design – Internal ribs keep the pallet stable and stop it deforming under heavy drums.
One-Piece Moulded Spill Sump – No joints to leak. Holds collected liquid as secondary containment for drum storage.

Q1. Does this 4 drum spill pallet hold a full drum?
Yes. The 300 mm deep sump holds 225 litres including the grating, enough for the full contents of one 200 litre drum. It is the only model in the SpillSafe range built for full drum spill containment.
Q2. How much secondary containment do I need for 4 drums?
A widely used rule is the larger of 110% of the largest container or 25% of total volume. For four 200 litre drums that is about 220 litres, which this 225 L secondary containment pallet covers. Your local authority or customer audit may set a different figure.
Q3. Should I choose the 225 L or the 70 L 4 drum spill pallet?
Both have the same 1300 × 1300 mm footprint and 1,200 kg load. Choose the 225 L for full-drum containment: 3.2 times the capacity for Rs. 2,910 more. Choose the 70 L only for a low deck and leaks and drips.
Q4. How is the DIBt grade spill pallet different from the industrial grade?
This DIBt grade pallet carries a 1,200 kg static load, 1.5 times the 800 kg of the industrial grade. Its sump is moulded from DIBt-approved metallocene polymer (PE-MD), while the industrial grade uses LDPE.
Q5. What is metallocene polymer (PE-MD)?
Metallocene polymer is polyethylene made with a metallocene catalyst, which gives a more uniform molecular structure. The PE-MD in this sump is stronger than LDPE and more flexible than HDPE, so it takes drum impacts without cracking.
Q6. Is this spill pallet DIBt approved?
The polymer is. The sump is moulded from DIBt-approved polymer, approved by DIBt (Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik), Germany's technical authority for construction products. Ask us for the approval document.
Q7. Is this a good spill pallet for acids and chemicals?
Yes. It is a chemical spill pallet for oils, lubricants, acids, alkalis and other hazardous liquids. For solvents or strong oxidising agents, send us the safety data sheet and we'll confirm suitability.
Q8. Can a forklift or pallet truck move this spill pallet?
Yes. It has 4-way entry for a forklift or a hand pallet truck with 685 mm fork width. Load ratings are static, so move the spill pallet when empty.
Q9. Does the spill pallet have a removable, reversible grating and drain plug?
Yes. The 100% PE grating lifts out with its built-in handle; one side has drum-alignment recesses, the other is flat. It also has a drain plug for controlled emptying of the sump.
Q10. What is a bund pallet or drum spill tray?
They are other names for a spill pallet. A bund pallet, sump pallet or drum spill tray has a sump under a grating that catches leaks from drums, providing secondary containment.
