Which spill pallet is best for acids and chemicals?
For acids and dense chemicals in full 200 litre steel drums, choose a heavy duty chemical spill pallet. The DIBt grade carries 1,000 kg (2 drum) or 1,200 kg (4 drum), and its polyethylene sump resists most acids and alkalis. To hold a full drum's contents, choose the 225 L model. For solvents or strong oxidising agents, send us the safety data sheet first.
What is a heavy duty spill pallet?
A heavy duty spill pallet carries more weight than a standard drum spill pallet. SpillSafe DIBt grade pallets carry 1,000 kg (2 drum) or 1,200 kg (4 drum) static load, 2.5 times the industrial grade on 2 drum models.
What is metallocene polymer?
Metallocene polymer is polyethylene made with a metallocene catalyst, which gives a more uniform molecular structure. The result is a tough, crack-resistant polymer that holds up to drum impacts and chemicals.
Is the spill pallet DIBt approved?
The polymer is. The yellow sump is moulded from DIBt-approved polymer, approved by DIBt (Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik), Germany's technical authority for construction products. Ask us for the approval document.
Which model holds a full 205 L drum?
The 225 L 4 drum spill containment pallet. The 50 L, 70 L and 125 L models catch leaks, drips and small spills.
What is DIBt-approved polymer?
DIBt-approved polymer is a polymer grade approved by DIBt (Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik), Germany's technical authority for construction products. Frontier uses a DIBt-approved C6 hexene polymer (PE-MD) that is stronger than LDPE and more flexible than HDPE. Ask us for the approval document.
Plastic or MS spill pallet: which is better?
For most oils and chemicals, a polyethylene plastic spill pallet is better than an MS spill pallet: it does not rust, resists acids and alkalis, and is lighter to move. Unlike standard HDPE spill pallets, the yellow range uses DIBt-approved or metallocene polymer.
